About Harrison, NJ Real Estate Market

One of the suburbs of Newark City in New Jersey, Harrison is a town located in the western part of Hudson County in New Jersey. The town is spread over 1.33 square miles of area and has a population of around 20,000. Previously a hub for various industries, Harrison went under a complete makeover and is now developing as a prominent residential town along the Passaic River.

Harrison shares its borders with other municipalities of Hudson County, such as Kearny and East Newark, along with Newark across the Passaic River. The history of the town goes back to 1852 when Union township became a part of Bergen County in 1852. However, in 1867, Kearny became a separate township, and in 1869, Harrison town got established, which replaced the original Union township.

Since Harrison has a large waterfront and is close to several rail lines, it used to be a hub for various small-scale and large-scale industries. However, after the World War II, Harrison started becoming a residential and service sector town from a manufacturing centre. Apart from many small-sized and moderate-sized New Jersey houses, Harrison is also home to the Red Bull Arena soccer stadium.
