About Dumont, NJ Real Estate Market

Originally formed in 1891, Dumont is a low-populated and small-sized borough belonging to Bergen County in New Jersey state. With a current-day population of around 18,000 people, the formation of Dumont happened by incorporating the parts of Harrington Township and Pallisades Township during the Boroughitis phenomenon.

The town of Dumont is named after Dumont Clarke, who served as the first mayor of the borough. Dumont is spread over 1.95 square miles and has other boroughs of Bergen county, such as Oradell, Haworth, Cresskill, Bergenfield, Demarest and New Milford, surrounding it.
Dumont is a small town prominently covered by parks and small-sized houses across a few lanes. There are four main roads in the borough, namely County Route 505, Knickerbocker Road, Madison Avenue and Washington Avenue.

The town has four parks along these main roads, which host several recreational and sports activities. These parks are Memorial Park in the east of Dumont, Twin Boro Field on the opposite side of the borough, Fred Triplett Park in the centre of the borough and Dawn M. Totten Memorial Field across the street where Fred Triplett Park is located. One can also find a decent number of restaurants and schools, apart from a number of small New Jersey houses, despite the low population.
